Efya Walk Out Of Interview After She Was Told Nigerian Jollof Taste Better Than Ghana

Ghanaian Soul Singer, Efya walked off an interview set when she was asked if she thinks Nigerian Jollof is better than Ghanaian Jollof.
The walk off was for a short while – probably as a protest at the thought. Conversations about who makes the better rice between the West African countries is always a heated one.
The ‘Forgetting Me’ crooner joined the folks at thenet.ng to talk about music, her career, future projects and a lot more.
Born Jane Efya Awindor, she was introduced to the Ghanaian music scene when she made it as one of 12 finalists of the music reality show “Stars of the Future” in 2008. She placed second in the competition to winner Irene Logan.
She is a product of Yaa Asantewaa secondary School and University Of Ghana, Legon, where she graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts and Music.
Between 2008 and 2011, she was part of the group ‘Irene and Jane’. They released one album “Unveiled” before going their see ways. After the break up, the then Jane changed her name to Miss Jane and then later, to Efya.
Efya got signed to One Nation Entertainment in 2011. Her first single after she left the group was ‘Little Things’. The mixtape This Is Not the Album released in 2013 consisted of songs released in the early days of her musical career.
She is a delight to watch on stage.
For four consecutive years between 2009-2013, she won ‘Best Female Vocalist of the Year’ at the Ghana Music Awards.
Efya released her debut album Janesis on April 22 this year. The 21-track album features collaborations with Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Bisa Kdei, Ice Prince, Mugeez, and E.L

4,000 Graduate To Be Employed Through YEA

Four thousand unemployed graduates who have been sitting at home for the past two years can now heave a sigh of relief following an arrangement to absorb them through the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) for deployment to the various metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies (MMDAs). Under a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in Accra yesterday between the YEA and the Local Government Service, the graduates would be employed by the agency for the Local Government Service to deploy them to the MMDAs across the country. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the YEA, Mr Justin Kodua Frimpong, signed on behalf of the YEA while Dr Nana Ato Arthur, the Head of the Local Government Services, initialled on behalf of the organisation. The new arrangement is under the YEA graduate internship module.
