LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp has played a blinder in the January transfer window, according to Paul Merson.
The Reds finally lost midfield maestro Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.
But after months of haggling, the Premier League heavyweights managed to bag well over £100m for their prized asset.
Klopp re-invested some cash and drafted in Virgil van Dijk from Southampton for £75m.
The charismatic German also ditched injury-ravaged Daniel Sturridge who joined West Brom on loan until the end of the season.
Merson, who played over 300 top-flight games for Arsenal, has hailed Klopp’s wheeling and dealing.
“It's been a brilliant window,” he told Sky Sports.
