The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) says it will invoke the Tourism Act 2011, Act 817, that established it to, among other things, investigate and take measures to eliminate illegal, dishonourable, unsound and improper activities in relation to any activity regulated under the Act. “The Authority wishes to remind all stakeholders and the public that it will not hesitate to invoke the relevant sections of its establishment Act on Advertisement and Promotion to bring all illegal acts and any perpetrator to book.” This comes in the wake of the increasing spate of advertising of sex parties and other sex-related activities by tourism establishments including hotels, nightclubs, movie houses and pubs. Police arrest Assin Adadientem juvenile charged with defiling 4-year-old girl

Police have picked up the juvenile who made the news last week for allegedly defiling a four-year-old girl at Assin Adadientem in the Central Region. The boy was not arrested early on although he had been charged with defilement because, according to police, the father of the victim, who first reported the matter, did not return to the station to lead them to effect the arrest. Hundreds Benefit From Breast Screening Exercise In Cape Coast

More than 800 women in Cape Coast and its environs have benefited from a week-long breast screening exercise. It was organised by Breast Screening Services, an organisation comprising lecturers of the School of Medical Sciences of the University of Cape Coast (SMS-UCC). Additionally, beneficiaries and residents were educated on the need to go for regular screening due to the effect of breast cancer. It was held with support from the University of Cape Coast and Margins Group. Dr. Kwesi Anyanful, senior lecturer at the School of Medical Sciences and a member of the Breast Screening Services disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency on the sidelines of a breast cancer awareness walk through the streets of Cape Coast to climax the breast cancer awareness month.
