I Will Give Job To NPP Members Before Others –High Commissioner To South Africa

Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, George Ayisi Boateng has said he will put supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) before any other Ghanaian when considering persons for job opportunities.
According to him, it was through the sweat of party members which gave the NPP victory in the 2016 elections thus was the right thing to do.
Addressing some members of the Tertiary Students’ Confederacy Network (TESCON) at a ceremony to usher in fresh students of Kumasi Technical University into the network over the weekend,he said: “The job market is choked and it is highly competitive and this government is doing its best to create job opportunities [but] me for instance I told my people that it is NPP that is why I am in power so NPP man is my priority.
“My topmost priority is the problem of an NPP person before any other Ghanaian, take it or leave it and indeed I am not boasting” Mr. Boateng added.
Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa revealed that he has been meeting NPP groups and has assured them of his intent.
“I have started meeting the NPP groups and I tell you if I had my way any job opportunity will go to a TESCON member” he stressed.
While urging other government appointees to follow suit and ensure party members are satisfied before other citizens, he said, “this government is doing its best to create job opportunities and me for instance, I told my people over there [that], it is because of NPP that I’m here, so the NPP man is my priority.
“I told them when NDC was in power it was Kwesi Ahwoi who was there, now we are in power, so Ayisi-Boateng is here with you. My topmost priority is the problems of an NPP person before any other Ghanaian, take it or leave it” he stated.
But the Minority in Parliament says his statement is a breach of the constitution which provides equal opportunity for all Ghanaians.
Minority Spokesperson of Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa says the commissioner must resign honorably or be sacked by President Akufo-Addo.
“Ayisi’s statement is shocking, very shocking. He should be resigning wherever he finds himself and should apologize to the President for making such unsavory comments because he doesn’t deserve that position” he stated.

Is GTV Still A Channel? —Afia Schwarzenegger Ask

Following the proposed sale of the Electricity Company of Ghana, the debate on whether the issue of selling government institutions to the private sector will somehow increase efficiency in their services is still ongoing. Some citizens have called for the subsequent sale of other institutions in the hopes that it will probably shift to more adequate working systems. One of such people is TV host and comedian, Afia Schwarzenegger. In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Afia Schwarzenegger called for the sale of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC). According to Afia, the corporation’s main television channel, Ghana Television (GTV), cannot be really considered a TV channel, thus it would be more prudent if it is sold. Afia Schwarzenegger has had quite the successful media career, spanning over five years. She has worked with Kasapa FM, Okay FM, and hosted the ‘Kokooko’ program on UTV channel, a subsidiary of the Despite Group of Companies
